Why use pre employment checks?
As managers we are all trying to put the right person in the right job. But more than that, we are likely to have to spend more time with this new employee than we do with our own family, so we really want to make sure that everyone is going to get along.
A pre employment check can reduce the risk of hiring someone new; someone we don’t know.
There are many different types of pre employment checks but they all try and help you do one thing; put the right person in the job. To do that they have to help you get to know the candidate. Humans are social creatures so it’s important that everyone gets along. Competence is the job is not enough. If the person is competent at the core skill but falls out with everyone they work with, then it’s unlikely to work out in the long run.
